Impressive...very impressive!!!

This machine is amazing! I did a ton of research online before purchasing. There were only 2 other machines in this price range that vacuums and steams simultaneously. I wanted a machine that does both at the same time because I am a stay at home mom that runs my own childrens clothing line and I seriously did not have time to do one and then the other. This machine does it all at once, vacuumed everything off of my floors,and steamed every bit of dirt and caked on food flawlessly. I am very hard to impress when it comes to anything cleaning my floors...before the machine I got on my hands and knees and did it myself. Never again! Very happy! I have clean floors!!!

A First Impression

I just got this in the mail today and wanted to write a review about it to help others. I actually bought mine off a daily deal site and took a risk because there really aren't that many reviews out there for it.My initial impression is that I like it. I'm using it in a small home, with a family of 3, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. The surface I'm using it on is approx. 600 sq. ft. I'll break down the pros and cons of it.Pros:- Medium weight, not too heavy.- STRONG suction, at least stronger than I expected. It does not need to be on top of the dirt to catch it. I saw it suck up something from at most about 2 inches from the head.- Using both steam and vacuum work quite well together.- Easy to use, take necessary parts out (such as canister, pad), and clean.- The steam takes about 5 minutes to get going. While that's working on starting up, I start just vacuuming around to pick up the worst stuff before it starts steaming.Cons:- It's about as loud or louder than my regular vacuum. This isn't too much of a problem with me, I expected it to be a bit quieter, but it's still fine. It scared the crap out of my one-year-old.- Because of the way the steam pad surface and vacuum area are set up, this cannot steam/mop all the way into corners and edges. The steam action reaches to about two inches to the edge of the floor. The pad surface is in the center of the vacuum so there's a little untouched area there. Once again, not too much of a problem, rarely do I have spots in the corners that need to be mopped. And the vacuum suction will pick up anywhere you put it.- The pad attaches to the vacuum with velcro. This is great except that you are supposed to machine wash it and there is no covering for those velcro tabs. So you'd worry about them attaching to other things you are washing it with and ripping little fuzzies. I solved this by attaching it to a cheap microfiber cloth before throwing it in the wash. - The rubber wheels are on the outside of the machine and whenever you are working near another surface, like baseboards, they kindof "catch" against it, not really slide well. Again, something I think I'll get used to and be just fine.A Pro/Con:- It's extremely maneuverable. This is good, because it can swing, shimmy, and wiggle into any spot big enough for it, but you may need to get used to how extremely flexible the unit seems to be. The movement is almost too fluid the first time you use it. :) It seems to just glide across the floor.Overall, I like it after my first use. I would recommend it to others if it continues to work well. I'll try to remember to update this in six months or so, to review the longevity of the machine.

The CHI is GREAT! It gets you're hard surface floors nice and steam cleany! Leaves a fresh smell in the house. Love that I can steam & vacuum at the same time if I want to do a quick clean. Vacuum suction is powerful, so there is noise associated with it. Steam pads are easy to clean in the washing machine. Since there is vacuum & steam in one, it is not super lightweight but you can lift it with one hand and the head does not get snuggly under all cabinets for steaming purposes. But the vacuum is strong enough to get the dirt from under the cabinets. Overall, this has been a good purchase for my tile, vinyl & linoleum floors. Just what I needed!
